New Version Vs Old Version
Big changes are with the old trellis frame deleted and now replaced with this composite design again that’s all about saving weight. It’s been stretched out by about half an inch that’s all about giving you better stability. And finally, new Super Duke is a fully adjustable suspension. The fuel tank of 1290 Super Duke R for next year it’s been rescaled and redesigned to better help support the rider so slightly smaller than the previous version.
The new version is a refinement to the engine chassis the suspension and even the electronics get an overhaul. So starting out with the legendary v-twin the LC-8 it’s now lighter more powerful generating around a 177 horsepower and 140 torque. About 1.7 pounds lighter than the previous version and that comes through evolutions in the engine case. Which is now thinner a long way of revised cooling and oil mounts as well as new top feed injectors. New 58-millimeter throttle bodies which will also improve the fueling. And new 1290 Super Duke R can breathe easier with a new ram-air system. For 2020 a new exhaust system it’s all about Euro 5 compliance. KTM also improved the gearbox on this version it’s got a shorter shift actuation and frame design that’s really one of the biggest changes in the 2020 bike.
