Design And Features
KTM Duke 390 2018 edition looks awesome right it comes in two colors orange and white. Duke 390 looks absolutely gorgeous it’s a naked street bike. And looks like the little brother of super duke 1290 R. Duke 390 got very aggressive looks and the build quality is excellent. This bike is very well built it has a steel Telus frame and the petrol tank is also made of metal. A fuel tank laid it 3:19 has a fuel tank capacity of 13.5 liters. The handlebar is made of metal feels super high-quality and is really wide. And headlamp it has a stylish bifurcated all-LED headlamp. This bike comes with dual-channel ABS and has a big 320 mm disc brake on the front. Both the tires are tubeless and have beautiful orange alloy wheels.
Engine
The Duke 390 has a single-cylinder 4-stroke engine with a displacement of 373 cc and contributes bhp of 42.9 at 9,000 rpm. It’s quite powerful and has excellent acceleration with a maximum torque of 37-newton meter at 7000 rpm. The duke 390 can touch from 0-100 km/h in just 5.6 seconds with the top speed being 167 km/h. The bike was very smooth even at high speeds like 100 to 120 km/h. The engine is also liquid-cooled and a good-sized radiator it’s quite bigger than the one on duke 200. It comes pre-fitted with crash guards.
The 2018 Duke 390 weighs about 163 kgs and as the ground clearance of 180 mm which is perfect for city riding. On the front 43 mm upside-down folks from WP. The suspensions on this bike are really good and give you the best possible riding experience. And comes with a six-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch. The rear part looks pretty awesome with the 390 stickering under the body.
TFT Display Features
Duke 390 has an all-new 5 inches TFT digital color display that can show you a lot of info. Which is not possible by the other bikes in its class. It shows a lot of stuff on the display like the trip info, date, odometer life, battery voltage, and also the fuel range and a lot more it’s a feature-rich digital console. By installing KTM My Ride app on your phone you can enable features like call notifications, get music controls on your bike.
Also, access your contacts and a lot more for that you need to first pair your phone with the bike using Bluetooth. You can change the ABS mode from the road to supermoto or even completely turn off ABS. The headlamp on this bike looks absolutely beautiful it’s got a bifurcated design. The TFT display is also quite bright it is easily visible even in bright lighting conditions and also the display themes and the font size change based on the ambient lighting.
Overview
The comfort of this bike offers great comfort while riding. The suspensions were also very good not too hard not too soft. This naked street bike has the highest power-to-weight ratio in its class. Duke 390 also has ride by wire technology that brings a huge difference. Generally in the other bikes, there’s a mechanical link between the accelerator and the throttle. But in the ride by wire system, there is no mechanical link between them.
Which enhances the engine efficiency and ensures precise control of the fuel-air mixture going in the engine. Duke 390 comes with a slipper clutch, the clutch is very nice and really soft. This soft clutch there is literally like no strain at all on your hand while riding this bike. The brakes are very good comes with dual-channel ABS braking. Coming to the mileage around 25 km/l in the city and around 30 km/l on highways.
Cons
Duke 390 is like the top and premium bike from KTM.
1. They should provide better quality mirrors to match the rest of the design.
2. The exhaust build quality and the sound of the exhaust.
3. The connectivity features of the digital console work very well with iPhone but on Android phones, few of the features like all notifications were not working.
4. Radiator fan noise.
